Sæby Marina
Sæby has built a new harbor, which has created almost ideal conditions for anglers
Sæby is located in the middle of nature with the mild blue sea on one side and inviting green forests on the other. Here you'll find a wealth of opportunities for active outdoor adventures - from hiking and cycling to SUP on the calm waters.
There are plenty of great fishing opportunities in and around Sæby. At the south pier at Sæby Harbor, you can cast your line for a wide variety of fish from the 600 meter long pier while sharing tips, tricks and tales with other anglers. The Sæby River, which is a short walk from Sæby Harbor, is a 100 km long paradise for nature lovers who also love fishing with spin, tackle and flies - and dream of catching brown trout.
Both north and south of the city, there are long stretches of coastline that are uncrowded and therefore perfect for those who really appreciate peace and quiet... and the possibility of turbot. So grab your rods and a versatile selection of bait and lures and head to Sæby for a fishing adventure.
Whether you're into fishing, relaxing on the water or taking a dip in the blue waves, there are plenty of options in Sæby. Rent one of the seaworthy 14-foot dinghies from JC Fisk and go fishing or enjoy a day on the water. For those who are into SUP, the newly expanded harbor is a perfect place. Here you'll find an activity pool, protected by piers, which allows beginners and experts alike to feel completely safe.
Kløverstierne is a nationwide trail system that allows you to walk, cycle or run on marked and measured routes while experiencing the area's nature and attractions. In Sæby you'll find four marked routes that take you through beautiful landscapes and exciting local history.
The advantage of Sæby is that you can easily get from the city center to nature. The new 14,000 square meter city park offers a multi-purpose court, petanque court and a new skate park. North of the city park you'll find one of Vendsyssel's very best places to spot bats. Here you can learn about the bats and listen for them with binoculars. Last but not least, you can spend a day in Nellemanns Have, which houses a large collection of paradise apple trees. The garden is particularly beautiful in spring when the trees are in bloom and offers a covered picnic shelter, fire pit and playground - the perfect setting for a relaxing day in nature.
Experience the nature around Sæby with three fantastic excursion destinations. Gybels Plantage offers both exercise and tranquility with its dog forest, heart path and exercise equipment, as well as a beautiful lake and rich wildlife. Gedebjerget mountain offers spectacular views and a 4.5 km hike that is also perfect for tobogganing in winter. In Professorens Plantage you can walk through pine forests, spot wild roses and experience a variety of wildlife.
