Small, local farm shops are like pearls strung along the North Jutland country roads. Follow the route here and treat yourself to organic vegetables, herbs, fresh berries, meat from free-range cattle, and freshly caught langoustines—all locally sourced.

In a small wooden cabin at Skovbrynet 38, Rikke and Josef sell organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers, all grown by hand. There is polite self-service available, and it's open every day of the week—except during the winter season.

SkagenOx

Between Nielstrup and Jerup at Skagensvej 360, Henriette and Martin sell organic meat from their grass-fed cattle. You can also find sausages from Slagter Munch, hand-peeled shrimp from Engelsviken in Skagen, and other local ingredients—all carefully selected.

Eskebæk Grønt

At Margit and Knud's organic farm with a farm shop on Hjørringvej 295, the selection is impressive: cabbage, root vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, aronia berries, white currants, and rhubarb. There are also ice cream, meat, jams, and flour from other local small producers.

Knappen - Langoustine sale

At Frederikshavnsvej 128, you can buy freshly caught langoustines from the fisherman's own garage. The shellfish are caught with the MSC-certified vessel Stjerne, which guarantees a sustainable catch.

Jensen Jordbær (Strawberries)

Self-picked strawberries just taste better, and at Hestvangvej 6, you can pick to your heart's content at Claus and Charlotte's strawberry field. Also, be sure to visit the farm shop, which offers strawberry jam made from their own berries, honey from local beekeepers, freshly dug potatoes, raspberries, peas, and rhubarb.

Den Glade Bondemand

You can’t help but feel good at Den Glade Bondemand on Stavadvej 351. Here, you'll find frozen cuts of beef and pork in the farm shop, and at the roadside stand, there are eggs, honey, jams, and potatoes, along with fresh and pickled vegetables.

Sønderhaven Gårdmejeri

Buy your cheese from Denmark's last true farm dairy, which produces cheese from milk from its own dairy cows. Sønderhaven Gårdmejeri is located at Stadevej 314, and here you'll find a variety of cheeses: comté, smoked white mold cheese, monk cheese, and many more.

Spirelyst

Trine, Kenneth, and Lærke at Hvalpsundvej 7 have converted their farm to 100% organic. Here, you can meet the farm's grazing animals—chickens, ducks, sheep, and lambs—and stop by the farm shop, which offers meat from their own livestock, eggs, vegetables, beer, and honey.
